This year, alongside the poet, her translator Małgorzata Wierzbicka won the price of 10 000 PLN.
– Dorta Jagić’s poems are the affirmation of the female freedom, her not giving in when it comes to the body and the feelings or social, political and historical determinism. These poems conjoin particular experience of existence and the universal values. The jury also admires the work of Małgorzata Wierzbicka who translated Dorta Jagić’s poetry into Polish – the jury wrote in the verdict justification.
