EUROPEAN POET OF FREEDOM

The European Poet of Freedom is a literary award, poetry festival and publishing series presenting volumes of authors shortlisted in the competition. The EPF is organised every two years, with the next edition scheduled to take place in Gdańsk in spring 2024.
The 2022 European Poets of Freedom are Marianna Kiyanovska (Ukraine) and Luljeta Lleshanku (Albania). The translators of their books, Adam Pomorski and Dorota Horodyska, received separate awards. The official award ceremony was held during the 7th European Poet of Freedom Festival (9-11 June 2022).
The Literary Award is funded by the City of Gdańsk. It aims to promote poetic phenomena that address one of the most important themes of the contemporary world, freedom, and demonstrate a high artistic value. The Festival and Award are organised by the City Culture Institute, the publisher of shortlisted volumes.
