European Poet of Freedom 2016

The fourth edition of the European Poet of Freedom Festival took place in Gdańsk on March 17 – 19, 2016. These were three days of meetings with European poetry at the highest level, debates with literary authorities, critical conversations about the translation of poetry and the Gala of the Literary Award of the City of Gdansk. The award went to the Romanian poet Ana Blandiana and her translator Joanna Kornaś-Warwas. The festival ended at the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theater with a gala directed by Paweł Passini “Winged words. A bouquet of feathers. ”

Festival guests were, among others: D.A. Powell, Olga Tokarczuk, Stefan Chwin, Tadeusz Dąbrowski, Agnieszka Wolny-Hamkało, Karol Maliszewski, Piotr Śliwiński, Grzegorz Jankowicz, Jacek Denhel, Ryszard Krynicki, Jacek Podsiadło, Andrzej Kopacki, Marcin Wicha, Przemysław Dębowski and Anna Pol.
